Joanna Wietrzyk played national-level tennis in Australia and won Tennis Victoria’s 2016 women’s Grade 4 Pennant Player of the Year award. She later moved into netball, reached Victoria’s under-19 development squad and competed in the Victorian Netball League. While coaching at an F45 gym in Melbourne, she entered HYROX in June 2024 after encouragement from members and fellow coaches.
HYROX achievements
Wietrzyk finished second at the Elite 15 World Championships in both 2025 and 2026. In 2025–26 she became the first athlete to win all four Majors in one season—Hamburg, Melbourne, Phoenix and Warsaw—and set the women’s Pro singles world record at 54:25 in Warsaw. In doubles, she set the Pro women’s record with Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr in Houston, then lowered it twice with Jess Pettrow: to 54:24.1 in Perth and 53:56 at the Melbourne Elite 15 race.
