Biography

Sporting background

James Kelly developed his aerobic base in Australian rules football before moving into marathon running. He discovered HYROX through Hunter McIntyre’s online content, then travelled to Birmingham in 2022 for his first race, winning the Pro division in 59:53.

HYROX achievements

He placed third at the 2024 World Championships in Nice and fourth at the 2025 Worlds. During the 2024–25 season he won Elite 15 races in Hong Kong and Glasgow. At the 2026 APAC Championships in Brisbane, Kelly won both the individual Elite 15 and the Elite 15 Doubles race with Matt Slee.
