Zara Piergianni grew up playing team sports, including football and netball, before moving into running and strength training at a local gym. She later tried CrossFit, enjoying its running and conditioning elements while finding Olympic lifting less suited to her. HYROX offered the blend of running, strength and endurance she wanted.
