Biography
Sporting background
Michael Sandbach played competitive football at a high level until age 24 and later entered several CrossFit competitions as an amateur. He discovered HYROX in 2021 and placed second on his Birmingham debut.
HYROX achievements
Sandbach finished sixth in Elite 15 at the 2022 World Championships in Las Vegas, then took third at both the 2023 European Championship in Maastricht and North American Open Championship in Chicago. At the 2024 World Championships in Nice, he was runner-up in men鈥檚 Elite 15 and also won the inaugural Mixed Relay World Championship with England, alongside Kate Davey, Zara Piergianni and Jake Williamson.
