Tomas Tvrdik built his sporting base in competitive cross-country mountain biking, with six years of intensive strength training and amateur strongman competition between cycling spells. He later moved into obstacle-course racing and competed in CrossFit at regional level. Seeing former OCR competitor Hunter McIntyre succeed in HYROX convinced Tvrdik that the format could combine his endurance and strength; he made his HYROX debut in Amsterdam in 2021.
HYROX achievements
Tvrdik placed fourth at the 2024 European Championship in Vienna. He then finished fifth at both the Hamburg 2025 and Phoenix 2026 Elite 15 races before taking third at the 2026 EMEA Championships in London, which qualified him for the World Championships. He closed the season ninth in Stockholm, his first World Championship top-10 finish.
